If you have trouble accessing your "Allow less secure apps" setting from the link above, please see the instructions below as a guide to an alternate way of changing this Gmail setting.
NOTE: 2-Step Verification must be turned off on your Gmail account to access this specific Gmail setting. To turn off 2-Step Verification, follow steps 1 - 4 of this guide, then choose "Signing in to Google" from the left-hand menu to access your "2-Step Verification" setting and switch it "Off".
- Open an Internet browser and navigate to mail.google.com. Log in to your Gmail account.
- From your Inbox, click the Settings button (or gear) in the upper right corner. (See FIgure 1) Select Settings.
Select Accounts and Import from the top of the screen. (See Figure 2) Choose Other Google Account settings.
You will be taken to the Google Account page. (See Figure 3) Click [Security] on the left-hand side.
Scroll down to the “Less secure app access” section. (See Figure 4) Click "Turn on access (not recommended)".
Click the toggle switch to change the "Allow less secure apps" option to "ON". (See Figure 5) These new settings will be saved automatically. You should now be able to send a test message through Servant Keeper Email Settings using Gmail as your provider.
