The Servant Keeper Import Tool is an optional add-on for the Servant Keeper program. The import tool saves a lot of time by allowing you to import new membership data (names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.) into Servant Keeper. If you have purchased the Import Tool, follow the steps below to guide you through installing this tool. If you have not yet purchased the Import Tool, call us at 1-800-773-7570 or visit our Web site (www.servantpc.com) for more information.

  1. Open the email that was sent to you from Servant Keeper containing the download  information for the Import Tool.

NOTE: Unlike the Import Tool for SK6, the SK7 Import Tool can be installed and used on any of
the computers where you have Servant Keeper 7 installed (i.e. server or workstation).

    IMPORTANT:
If you have multiple databases, the Import Tool will import the data into the last
database that was opened. If you would like to import into a different database, be sure to open this database before closing SK7 and beginning your import.

  2. Click on the link in the email to download the Import Tool. (See Figure 1)

NOTE: After clicking on the download link, you may be prompted to “Run” or “Save”. Choose  [Run] if this option is available. The options for your download will be different depending on your Internet browser. Consult your System Administrator if you are unsure how to download this file.

  3. When the Setup Wizard opens, the first window you will see is the Welcome window.  Click the [Next] button to continue. (See Figure 2)

  4. The next window in the installation process is the License Agreement window.  After reading the agreement, click the “I accept the agreement” radio button, and then click the [Next] button to continue. (See Figure 3)

  5. You will now see the Enter Registration Code window. Enter the registration code  for the Import Tool found on your sales receipt or in your email. Click the [Next] button to proceed. (See Figure 4)

  6. The next window is telling you where the Import Tool is getting installed. The Help  Desk recommends keeping the default installation path, however, the path may be changed by clicking the [Browse] button and selecting a new location. Click the [Next] button to continue with the installation. (See Figure 5)

  7. The next window you will see is the Select Start Menu Folder window. On this  step, you will be asked where you would like to place the program’s shortcuts on your computer’s Start Menu. By default, the shortcuts will go into the existing Servant Keeper 7 folder. The Help Desk recommends keeping this folder as the default location, however, the folder may be changed by clicking the [Browse] button. Click the [Next] button to continue with the installation. (See Figure 6)

  8. You will now see an Installing window. This window will show the progress of the  installation procedure. (See Figure 7)

  9. After the installation has completed, you will see the Finish window. Click the [Finish] button to complete the installation process. (See Figure 8)

NOTE: At the end of your installation, you may see a Program Compatibility Assistant window  stating that “this program might not have installed correctly”. If prompted, choose the option that states: “this program installed correctly”.

  10. During the installation of the Import Tool, a Servant Keeper Import Tool shortcut  will be placed on your Desktop. (See Figure 9) Double left click on the icon to open the Import Tool and begin the import process.
